Brett Wood, CPPB, Senior Purchasing Administrator for Johnson County, Kansas was recently selected as NIGP’s Professional Buyer of the Year for 2009. This award recognizes non-supervisory professionals who have made significant contributions to purchasing, professional development, their own entity and to the Institute.
Brett is beginning his eighth year of service in public procurement for Johnson County. He reached the national competition by first being named 2008 Buyer of the Year by MACPP. He received similar honors in 2007, when KAPPP named him as their Buyer of the Year. Brett served as MACPP President in 2008.
This is an important honor for Brett and for MACPP. The last MACPP Buyer to be so honored was Mr. John Neger, one of our founding and charter members. NIGP has over 2,600 member agencies and over 16,000 members throughout the US and Canada.
